I have no idea why this took so long, but you can now add company videos to your Google My Business listing (this is your business listing on Google Maps).

Allyson Wright from the Google My Business team announced today that the video upload feature is now available for business owners in the Google My Business dashboard.

Here’s what she said:

Hi everyone,

We’ve officially launched videos in the Google My Business Photos Dashboard! Merchants can now view videos added by customers and upload videos about their the business for customers to view.  We currently support videos up to 30 seconds in length.

How it works:

  • Videos will appear in the overview tab of the Google My Business Dashboard
  • Customer uploaded videos can be found in the ‘customer’ tab
  • Merchant uploaded videos can be found in the ‘by owner’ tab
  • All videos can be viewed together in the ‘videos’ tab
  • After upload it could take up to 24 hours for the videos to appear. Once live, they will display where local photos do.

In addition to uploading videos, merchants will have the ability to flag inappropriate videos through their dashboard. Native mobile support and notifications for new customer videos are coming soon.

So if you have a video you want the world to see, make sure you upload it to your Google My Business Listing. It’s free, easy to do and will give your listing a unique and engaging look. Log into your dashboard, go to “Photos” and then in the top menu “Videos”.
