Share Gift Cards and Food Ordering Options on Instagram

They say that tough times can bring out the best in people. They can also present new and exciting opportunities for your business. There will always be those who want to help others, and you undoubtedly have customers that would love to continue to support your business and maintain a sense of normalcy in their lives. If you are looking for a way to help them do so, then you are in luck because Instagram just introduced new options to bring you and your customers together.

Although circumstances force us to be apart, people are seeking new ways to maintain a sense of community, and these new features help you to do just that. By adding a new digital gift card or food ordering options to your business’s profile and then sharing that on Facebook, customers new and old can interact with your business in a quick, easy, convenient manner.

You can also enhance your Instagram Stories by adding attractive new interactive stickers. This fun addition lets you update and inform your followers in an engaging manner that will make them want to share, allowing you to expand your reach and build a larger community.

Getting Started

To begin, you will need to choose a partner to work with. After making your selection, create a free account with them, unless you already have one. Your choice of partner will depend on the services you are offering. If you wish to offer gift cards, then review the list of gift card partners. If you are seeking a food ordering service, then you will find a partner among the food ordering partners. Not all partners are available in each country, so be sure that you are choosing one that is available where you are located.

After you have chosen your partner and successfully set up your account, you are ready to add their link to your Instagram profile. This will allow anyone viewing your profile to make purchases through your partner’s platform, and it is done with just a few easy steps:

  1. Log in to your Instagram profile.
  2. Select Edit Profile.
  3. Find Public Business Information and then select Action Buttons.
  4. Under “Select a Button” choose Gift Cards.
  5. Select your partner. If you haven’t finished setting up your account with your partner yet, do so now, following the instructions on their site.
  6. Add your partner’s link.
  7. Select Done.

You are now ready to have visitors make purchases through the added button appearing on your Instagram profile. One important fact to make note of is that adding a Gift Card button will automatically remove any active Book, Get Tickets, Reserve, and Schedule buttons that are on your profile.

Getting the Word Out

Now that you have your account set up and are ready for customers, you need to let them know, and that’s where the interactive Food Order and Gift Card stickers come in! Just take a look in your sticker tray to find these new items which you can add to your photos and videos that you upload to your story. One sticker can be added to each story.

Adding a sticker follows the same procedure as adding a button. First, select your photo or video to upload. Then, select the appropriate sticker category such as Food Orders. Add your partner and their link. Finally, place the sticker where you want it and share your story. Just like a button, a sticker will bring anyone who clicks on it to your partner’s platform to make their purchase. Another great feature is that others can share these stickers in their own stories, giving their followers a chance to support your business as well!
