What is Waze?
Waze is a GPS navigation software app and a subsidiary of Google, with over 50,000,000 users. It works on smartphones and tablet computers that have GPS support, providing turn-by-turn navigation information and user-submitted travel times and route details, while downloading location-dependent information over a mobile telephone network.
What type of business can benefit from Waze?
There are two types of businesses that can benefit from advertising on Waze. The first are businesses that rely on foot-traffic such as oil change locations, coffee shops, retail stores, take-out food shops, and restaurants.
Waze provides a take-over banner ad when a potential customer comes to a complete stop at a four-way stop or traffic lights within a defined radius around the business.
The second type of business that can benefit from advertising on Waze would be a local company looking to increase brand awareness using the Waze Arrows – effectively a digital billboard. Imagine knowing exactly how many people saw your billboard and then either called you, got directions to your business, or visited your website!
How much does Waze cost?
There are only two costs associated with Waze Advertising – the initial set-up which is $1,500 and then a suggested budget of $300 – $750 a month for most local companies.
How does Waze work?
Drivers using Waze to navigate see your advertising when the car becomes stationary. We then track and share the results from these adverts. These results are the number of people who saw your advert, the number of people who either called you, visited your physical location or went to your website.
