Instead of having one linking to a mobile site and one linking to a desktop, both are combined into one URL. This gives the website more credibility because it is searched for more rather than being split in two. Google likes this credibility and frequency of clicks. More users is good for your ranking leading to more clicks in the future. Since most people are now using a mobile device, it’s best to update to a mobile responsive site where you know there won’t be any future problems with redirecting or split URL’s.

It is Easier for Google to Handle

Since a website will only have one URL, that makes it easier for “Google Bots” to store the information. There isn’t multiple HTML’s for one website that have to be indexed. Each website is indexed by Google from one URL and the responsive design makes the whole process go smoother. There is less to deal with and everything is saved more accurately. When a website doesn’t have errors and is convenient for people, it is more likely to be shared. More people view the website from their phone and their other devices.

This makes the reader happy and Google is happy when the reader is. However, when a site has a lot of errors, especially in the design of a website, readers leave the page and that will hurt the websites SEO. This creates a headache for Googles external link algorithm. They want simple and efficient websites to log into their system rather than having to repeatedly deal with the same website.

Things change rapidly and often when dealing with SEO tactics on the internet. Right now, mobile responsive websites are in the limelight for Google. While it is important to stay on top of these current trends, it’s also important to provide quality content for readers and customers. Responsive websites are just one way to deliver that information more quickly and efficiently.

In the end, if Google recommends it over all other systems, it’s probably best to look into it.
